Our hand embroidered crosses feature printed, life-like pressed flowers and sumptuous hand embroidered alpaca and silk stitchwork. This cross is painstakingly embroidered into paper before being digitalised and made into this print.

Originally handcrafted by designer Leah, she tuned into an inner rhythm as she hand stitched and weaved the design. The technique she has used was an organic variation on darning stitch. The symmetry and structure of the stitches combine beautifully with the soft edges of the flowers and petals.

Slow design accurately describes the process of creating these fine artworks. Each pressed flower appearing in the artwork originally hand pressed by Leah, as well as many of them having grown in her garden from seed.

Selecting only the finest specimens to use in her prints the process was a lot of trial and error. The flowers chosen for this piece were delicate wildflowers, including a pink poppy, delphinium faces, and rose petals.

We hope that you will cherish the results of these crafts which would look great in any girl’s bedroom, a pink nursery or the bedroom of anyone who appreciates a pastel aesthetic.
