Sailboat

Description

Our embroidered sailboat art features printed pressed wildflowers and pressed hydrangea petals mixed with sumptuous hand embroidered alpaca and silk stitchwork. This sailboat was painstakingly embroidered into paper before being digitalised and made into this print.

Originally hand crafted by designer Leah, she tuned into an inner rhythm as she hand stitched and weaved this piece. The technique she used was an organic variation on darning stitch.

Each pressed flower appearing in the artwork was originally pressed by Leah, as well as many of them having grown in her garden from seed. Selecting only the most interesting specimens to use in her prints the process was a lot of trial and error. The botanicals she chose for this piece are wild flowers, bind weed, wild rose and hydrangea petals. The hope is that you will cherish how we have captured her craftsmanship.
