Description

Our hand embroidered vase art features printed, life-like pressed flowers and sumptuous hand embroidered alpaca and silk stitchwork. The vase was painstakingly embroidered into a museum quality paper, before being digitalised and made into this print.

Originally hand crafted by designer Leah, she’d tune into her inner rhythm to stitch and weave the piece. The technique used was an organic variation on darning stitch.

Each pressed flower appearing in the artwork was originally hand pressed by Leah, as well as many of them having grown in her garden from seed. Selecting only the finest specimens to use in her prints the process was a lot of trial and error. The flower she chose for this piece is a pink poppy from a variety called Shirley. Our hope is that you will cherish the way we have preserved her craftsmanship.
